Date and Cashew Chutney (condiment)

This flavorful chutney is a delicious accompaniment to Indian flatbreads like roti or paratha. It can also be used as a dip for vegetables, crackers, and rice paper rolls.

 

  • 1 cup Qyno Deseeded Dates
  • 1/2 cup Salt Roasted Cashews
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1-inch of ginger, grated
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp chilli powder (adjust according to spice preference)
  • Salt to taste
  1. In a food processor, combine pitted dates, raw cashews, chopped red onion, lemon juice, grated ginger, ground cumin, chilli powder, and salt.
  2. Process until a coarse paste forms. Scrape down the sides of the food processor as needed.
  3. Adjust seasonings with additional lemon juice, salt, or chilli powder as desired.
  4. Serve immediately or store in a tight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
